Let’s talk about publications

First off… Publications are glorified in academic and scientific culture. Yes, peer review is good and yes, we don’t have a better system in place yet (ask me about that), but academic journals are becoming less and less accessible and are innately inequitable because of legacy norms, paywalls, and so so many more issues. If you want to create a better system for science review and communication - Let’s talk! In the meantime, be conscious about how publications are accessed, reviewed, and distributed and how that might bias what gets to your inbox or into your own manuscripts to be cited. I think we can do better.
